I'am extremely into the whole car thing and I'am looking to purchase a fast car. I see that a lot of people have an Eclipse and I'am also looking for an Eclipse. Are they good cars? Does anyone have any car suggestions for me? Thanks alot!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm let me think....... hell yes alot of us here are eating peanut butter and jelly sandwichs and raman noodles because we love our cars.Like anything else when treated with respect it will last a long time, before you buy your dsm dont rush into it make sure you do your reserched and make a informed buy.

Eclipse's / Talon's are good cars. If you find one in good condition and take care of it, it will treat you nice and you WILL have a lot of fun with it. However, if you get one that's been abused or simply you neglect yours then you are asking for trouble. Be prepared to spent some $$$ on repairs as soon as you get it. Make SURE you do your home work so you do things the right way. My first Talon was a 97 ESi and I did everything wrong, ended up spending lots of money and then getting rid of it. My current Talon is a 95 TSi and I'm doing things the right way now and I couldn't be happier. Best of luck to you, Tom.

DSMs are great cars, but they're not for everybody. Although they can be made into quick little cars with fairly little modifications, they do require frequent maintenance. If you're looking for a car that you can buy for grand and be set to hit the road with, DON'T BUY A DSM. If you pick up a DSM for say $1500, expect to spend twice that much on maintenance to get it running right.

Just be careful when buying a DSM... As far as I'm concerned, people sell DSM's for one reason... They are broke(n).

haha, so true. both ways too. Broke money wise, and broke car wise. Sometimes both at the same time.

Just be careful when you are looking. And it is a HUGE plus if you can get any kind of maintenance record and from what shop it was done at. (And if it is a good shop even bigger plus)
