Ok I got a 1995 GST.

Due to it have a bad timing belt I had to pull the head off it either way. I am pulling the motor and trans(it's an Auto in case anyones wondering).I got prices of a valve job at a lil under $200.00.

I got to thinkin about my goals for this car. I would like to get near or around 350whp out of it.

Block is being decked and bored 0.060 over with 0.020 cast iron sleves pressed into each cly(for NOS later on) I am going with wesico 0.040 HD pistons. I got a new set of Egale 3d rods crank is being checked out then they will balance the rotateing asy once it's ready.

I am looking at going with the 272/272 cams with adjustable cam gears (or should I just leave em stock?)

Fluidamper
Front mount inter cooler new pipeing.

Stock turbo till I can upgrade it and the fuel system

I am how ever going to do the fuel pump with the build any sugestions?
I am thinking about picking up a used DSMlink the guy is asking 350 for it good buy?
I will be adding pics as I get parts and progress with the build.

Walbro 255HP fuel pump will be fine.

Wiseco/Eagle are good to about 700hp if the tune is good.

272s are a good upgrade if you have a turbo that can flow well up top.

$350 for a legit copy of DSMLink is a f_cking killer deal!

For the love of God, get a turbo bigger than 16/18g. I am a f_cking idiot for not listening when I asked what turbo to get and didn't get a 50 trim like EVERYBODY suggested for my goals. *kicks own ass*

The Holsets are very popular and there is a great thread to check out if you are interested in searching for it. Looks like a 7 blade HX-35 would serve you well. (I am probably getting one, but I should just go for the HX-40 instead)

If you are really only looking for 350 whp, an EVO3 16g would be perfect, but then you wasted money on the motor rebuild cause a stocker could hold that power easily...

The automatic DSM transmissions are stronger than the manuals but can do with a bit of shoring up for the power that you would like to put through it. Fortunately making the stock transmission stronger is cheap and easy. Head to IPT Performance Transmissions Torque Converters and Transmission Parts for Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Import vehicles and get yourself a shift kit and new end clutches. Should cost you about $160 and take a day to both modify the valve body and install the stronger end clutches, and you wont even need to drop the transmission.

The new cams are overkill until you replace your turbo and upgrade your fuel system.

Nitrous is entirely unnecessary for your goals but if you just want to shoot something into your engine then you can run water or meth injection to get more power.

A Warlboro 255 would be a fine choice as long as you get an AFPR to go with it. If you would like to save about $200 you can probably run a Warlboro 190LHP or evo9 pump and skip the AFPR.

Adjustable cam gears are not necessary. They are used to dial in the cams to make the max power out of them. I would get upgraded springs and retainers first so that you can rev higher, taking advantage of the shift upward in powerband the longer duration cams gave you.

A walbro 255hp would leave room to grow, especially if you rewire it. As stated above you then need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator because you'll over-run the stock one. For 350whp you could get away with a 190 rewired and the stock FPR.

I would be wary of dsmlink for 350, that's 200 off the regular price. There are illegal copies out there, and trust me, the $550 is worth the admission to the dsmlink forum even without the tuning software. That forum is a great resource.
Identifying counterfeit dsmlink copies

If you get dsmlink, go with 800cc or larger injectors, the price difference is negligible and it leaves expansion room. If you're going to run a safc, it doesn't control anything over 650cc for crap.

I want to thank you all for your advice!

I will be ordering the IPT performance rebuild kit for the tranny very soon ###### next fri
What shift kit do I need to get and also I have no a/t exp at all is it something I can do or should I just pass it off to the shop and have them do it?
Will this kit work for me?

Complete -8 DSM Fuel Kit with Injectors
it's like 630 with 950 injectors.

I have been looking at the springs in the parts sec on the forums. And am a lil lost of them and the fact there are duel spring set up's in there with no lifters any any where.

Unless your transmission is already damaged you don't need a rebuild kit just a shift kit and end clutches.

IPT Performance Transmissions Torque Converters and Transmission Parts for Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Import vehicles is the page for us.

You want the Translab shift kit for $85 and IPT End Clutch Kit *NEW and IMPROVED AGAIN!!* for $84. The end clutches can be done in half an hour and the hardest part is getting the snap ring back in place at the end of the work.

I've never done the Translab Shift Kit but it is on my to do list for this summer. I have heard that is is involved but not intensely challenging.

Check out VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions for instructions on all sorts of installations.

I am going to start the tear down tomarrow afternoon. Just wanted to post some befor pics

I decided to go with the 2.3L stroker kit and a HX40 (I got a used HX40 8 blade for 200.00)

1000CC injectors in the full fuel upgrade kit

I am keeping the 7 bolt in the car as I am running it with an auto trans.

The DSKlink I bought was a fake but the guy refunded me the money
I am looking to get a new intake. I want to run a 38mm external waste gate

and upon looking into the exhaust I have to replace it from the down pipe back (Redneck fence post welded in 2' chunks from the dp flange to the muffler not one part of it is the same size........)

Here are some before pics
