Ok, been running my car for awhile 4123. Just outta curiosity i swapped it to 4132. It idled perfect. WTF. I have a 97 with a 97 ecu, 2g head, 2gb cas. Is there something im missing? It seemed to idle BETTER 4132 instead of the 4123 your supposed to run. Im guessing with this logic i could swap 1 and 4 with the same effect?? Weird, guess i dont know much about these cars after all.... I feel dumb as shit.

Read the wiki, says its firing one on compression the other on exhaust. If that were the case it wouldnt idle just fine like it did. They must both be on compression strokes. Maybe i need to find an animation on youtube of the 4g63 ignition system.

just found a good one. Yea makes more sense now, still confused as to why it idled great and revved great too. Well, i hooked it back up normal fyi, according to the animation i would be losing a ton of power if i kept it like that LOL.

Waste spark = a second WASTED spark at the opposite end of the cycle. Since the needed spark is at the end of compression, the wasted spark is at the end of exhaust. /thread
