I'm really confused and frustrated at the moment, must be the damn heat outside.

This is a really quick question. I'm trying to figure out the right firing order to put in my new wires.

From left to right, is it cylinder 1 --> 2 --> 3 --> 4 or do we go from right to left 1 --> 2 --> 3 --> 4 ?

From what I know this is the proper firing order "1 3 4 2"

This guy at Auto Zone gave me this paper and I'm just so confused it's really not making any sense at all.

Does the first cylinder wire go to the THIRD thing on the throttle body?

Or is it just 1 to 1 , 2 to 2, 3 to 3, etc?

Sorry about the confusing post. Super frustrated at the moment.

Thanks for any replies and help.

It should be coil 1 to cylinder 1 and so on and to figure out which cylinder is number 1 just look for the timing belt/chain/gear and the cylinder closest is number one

On every engine I have ever seen, number one cylinder is the one closest to the timing belt/chain. This goes for inline engines, V engines, and even horizontally opposed engines.

S&S engines have a funny crankshaft, so this doesn't really apply to Harleys.

Cylinder 1 is closest to the timing belt side and hold cable 1, then cylinder 2 with cable 2... So on and so forth. On the coil pack underneath each coil prong is a number indicating which cylinder/cable goes there. Plug them in how it says and you're done.

Or just go shortest cable to longest cable. Shortest cable goes in the number one cylinder(by the timing belt side)then the next shortest and so forth until you re at the longest cable which is cyl 4. Do one at a time and follow where it was and it helps not get confused on where which cable plugs where.

Tell me if this is correct:

I put the # in red (used mspaint) next to the spark plug.
