So, I'm trying to finish up the car and I am having problems when I boost the car past 6000rpm. i get smoke out the exhaust when i boost past 6000rpm and I don't think it is engine related. I have checked the plugs after boosting and they have no oil deposits on them. i would switch to getting oil pressure from the head but my max oil pressure from the head is 35psi when warmed up and this is not enough for this turbo. I was informed by multiple shops and the manufacturer of the turbo themselves that 60psi is ideal and 30psi is way too low. The two possible problems are listed below.
1. My oil pressure is at 18 psi at idle and it follows the rpm up 10psi per 1000rpm. 70psi by 6000rpm. I talked to the precision and other DSM shops and they stated that even though I have a .068 restrictor in line that the pressure is too high.
2. I might need to upgrade my pcv system. i have the PCV setup as stock with an additional check valve between the valve cover to the smim.
Let me know if you need more info, my mods are in my profile.
