Finding good price on clutch install...

I will be getting a CFDF clutch and Fidanza aluminum flywheel on my own. I just got a quote from a respectable shop for $760 for LABOR ALONE. I guessed at around $600. But after researching, it seems everyone is getting it done for like $350. There aren't really any other respectable shops in town. I live in an average sized city (60k population) so price should be pretty normal. Any ideas?! I'll shop around a little more, but any hints? I'm willing to pay $760 if that is indeed the going rate. I was content, until I heard what other people are getting.

BTW I thought about doing it myself but I don't trust that I could do it w/o breaking something. I know enough to know what the FAQ is talking about in each step, but its always different when you're in there doing it. Any advice there?

I paid about that for my clutch job. I was pissed, but didnt have much option.

if you have Jackstands and some time just do it yourself.

Up to you, but you could look outside of your city. Found a dsm shop 100 miles north of me that would do it for $300. May be worth it for you to look in other towns around you if ~$700 is the best you have found so far.

You can do it. I got my car and 6 months later it needed a clutch. The most I had ever done to a car before was fluid changes and swapping an axle. It wasn't hard, but took some time the first time around.

I paid $600 for my clutch change the first time. The second time I paid $2.99 for my clutch alignment tool. Don't bother getting screwed over. Do it yourself. It's easy.

If you are going to own a tuner car you should learn to do thie stuff yourself. Not to hard and you have all the resources you need with the internet. Get your hands dirty it's fun.
