after so long of finding a turbo eclipse or talon in this state(montana) which is really hard to come by..I got my first turbocharged car..its a 1991 Eagle Talon TSI AWD!! I was totally excited out getting it..funny thing was this guy had to get out of town and he needed some quick cash..so he came to my work and offered to sell it for $200 and its in great shape except it needs some things done to it such has paint..because its flat black primer now and the turbo seized and the engine needs to be rebuilt but the body is straight..now all I have to do is get it here from his garage...which is the dilemma I am having because with the AWD I need the whole car up on a dolly right?

Yeah you have to have all four wheels off the ground. Unless you disconected the driveshaft. I don't know how hard that would be though, it's about one of the only parts I haven't taken off my car. It shouldn't be too tough though. If it's not too far you could just pull it behind something.

rent one of the uhaul flatbed car carriers(40 bucks) and get some sort of truck/suv(NO JEEP) to pull it and make the trip.

all 4 wheels have to be off the ground, unless you want to replace the center diff along with the rest of the car.

how far is the trip? all 4 wheels "should" be off the ground but it can be done if your going very slow for a short time.

:dsm: mitsubishi eclipse :talon: eagle talon :laser: plymouth laser

at least 30 mins of driving...I might have to get one from uhaul and see how much they want..and i can put it into neutral and push it up on the trailer right? without hurting anything?

well I just put it on a flat bed trailer so i wouldnt mess anything up..anyway its at my house now and I just kind did a quick job at cleaning it up and everything.. my friend is comming over to take some pics with his camera of my new dsm :p

I'd leave it flat black, dump your money into the brakes, suspension, drivetrain and engine. Use your eclipse as your daily driver and turn the talon into a hardcore drag car or autocross car, depending on your likes.

If you can find one in Montana, that gives me hope that I can find one in SoCal! :D

Best of luck with it.

ya I was thinking about keeping it flat black...I want like a weekend killer type car..because everybody in town knows I drive an RS..so I will like challenge STi's and such and then pull out my TSI AWD..knowing they made a mistake LOL :thumb:

:thumb: Debadge, leave flat black, hell don't really touch the exterior at all. Hell take th spoiler off so it looks more like a laser.

I actually purposely painted mine flat black, but my paint was goin to shit anyways. I like it, cops are less likely to notice you. :laser: :thumb:

I love the way flat black looks but in SCC a few issues ago they painted a STi flat black and they said it screwed up the reception with the radio....something about the Waves deflected off of the car....I dunno might be something to think about :dsm:

They must have used that new aluminum foil basecoat.
:D

Here is some pics of my car that I finally got..Night pics is when I just got it pulled into my driveway from trying so hard to get a flatbed...Day pics are from the next day of working on it taking the Intake off and hoses etc..so its easier for the engine to be pulled soon and have it worked on...PTE 50trim to come :dsm:

what!? flat black gives it a highway camouflage look? maybe if they do see you, and start a chase, you can stop on the side of the road and they'll think it is an abandon car. :D haha just kidding, -jam

unripped leather? OMG i thought that was about unheard of in these cars. anyways, props on the good find. i'd say it was well worth 200 bucks. :thumb:

good find. Are you fimilar with rebuilding the engine and such.

not as fimilar with rebuilding the engine, just replaceing stock parts with aftermarket ones or fixing everything around the engine area..I am just clearing stuff up so that when the shop pulls the engine, it will be less on labor because I can do everything else..except for tranny gears and engine internals but other than that I can mount up an Intercooler and bolt on a turbo and add a new intake pipe etc etc.
