finallly did my Valve Cover.

Lemme start by saying this job is very simple, and took only a couple of hours to do!

After getting the cover off.. I sprayed it down with carb. cleaner. This ate the crap outta the grease! Make sure theres NO grease.
Next I power sanded the letters, to get them shiny.
I used a filler primer. Put on two coats. The kind that I used took only 10 minz to dry.
Lastly, I shot it with red.. and Voila!
Heres what it looks like..

What did you spray it with? Also, did you use a block sander on the letters?

i used a little black and decker mouse sander.
I used more of an abrasive paper, as there were a lot of swirl marks in the lettering.
As for the paint, I did not use a high temperature paint.
My experience with high temp paints leads me to believe that its difficult to get a high shine out of them. <im amateur anyway, so that may be the problem.>
I ran my car after the paint dryed, and there is not any evidence of cracking, etc.
Time will tell.

I forgot to mention....
I HIGHLY suggest replacing the valve cover gaskets. I bought a set from a local auto store for 18bux. My old ones were original, and leakage was evident. I also noticed oil in my plugs, and this will solve that problem.
So, if you do it, replace the gaskets!!

Nah, I bought that like 2 days after I first got my car thinking it was cool. It's coming off tho.
