i bought my 90 talon tsi about a month ago. it apparently has a new turbo in it that is only a couple months old. i read the code on the turbo and it says TD05H, i found out that that is just the case, and that it can be the outter part of a number of different turbos, is there an easier way to figure out the size other than taking it apart?...

Look at the compressor blades if there is only single blades on the compressor wheel then it is more than likely a 14b(13g if auto car) if there are double blades then it is one of the following; small 16g, big 16g or some 16g variant, if you can put up a picture this would help a bunch, and judging by the TD05H I would say that it is a 14b or small 16g turbo. Hope this helps out. Later, Keith

The two turbos that will be hard to see the difference in a picture are the 16g and Big 16g. If the part number ends in 05200 its a 16g and 01420 for the Big 16g.

i'll try to get some pictures of it..but the casing all i found stamped into it was the TD05H...that would be nice if its a 16G, i've been thinkin its just a replacement of the stock one, but my friend looked and he thinks it may be a little better than stock, i'll see what i can do about pics, thanks adam
