To bring cancer awareness to a new front and raise the money to help families fighting cancer through the use of road rally events.
Our Story:
In 1989 Everett (Dale) Gresham was 6 years old and fighting cancer. There are no really good stories about finding out you have cancer only some have happy endings. This story is rather entwined, a year before Dale was diagnosed his father was diagnosed with a different terminal illness. His family was under great stress having lost their primary income and many organizations stepped up to help them out. He has since been looking for a way to give back. Giving back needs proper motivation and this fall he received just that, with in weeks both his stepfather and girlfriend were diagnosed with cancer. He has decided that it is time to give back. He is a survivor and ready to help more people become survivors. Dale is now 21 years old and owns his own custom vinyl graphics business. He has a passion for cars and driving. He is doing what he loves to save who he loves.
Our Goals:
To run in the AKA Rally in June of 2005 with the intent of creating our own rally the following year.
Raise awareness in our younger generations of the reality of cancer, promoting screening and prevention.
Raise money to aide families in need of help.
Our Plan:
We have a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse that was already donated.
We will hold a series of local benefits and find local sponsors to get the car ready to go for the Rally.
After entry money is raised, we hope to use media resources to publicize our cause.
Upon completion the car will travel to car shows in the Local Tri-State area along with a donation station.
In the summer of 2005 Dale will pilot the car from Philadelphia to Key West, Florida in the AKA Rally, with the intent of raising awareness and donations.
After completion of the AKA Rally, the funds raised will be officially donated to the American Cancer Society.
The car will continue to run Rallies in order to promote awareness and eventually our very own Rally with the purpose of raising funds for families in need.
