It was plagued with fitment problems so that slowed me down. They're all solved now and I had my friend start with the final bondo touch-ups. The problem is that he's going on a little vacation and I don't trust my bondo skills enough to do it, so I sent it with him. Should have finished pics by monday. Sorry guys :(. FourG63 97GST, I'll make you one if the price is right :D.

Did you iso mount your deck, if so how hard was it, cuz i know the bolts don't match up. if not then what kit did you use?

Well my friend's back and he got a LOT of bondo work done. A couple coats of primer are on mostly just to see imperfections. You can't see it real well in this pic, but I had the electronics sticking up a little bit and he molded up to them. Looks great.

awesome like a possum. i want me one of those, i just need something to put in the holes

very nice, i think i finally decided to make fiberglass door panels inserts and nmount tvs in them, just to be sure, you mix the resin and hardener together then apply to either fleece or fiberglass strips? cant wait for the final product....

Well, the fleece that one of the other members on this board used (recent post) was just to give the thing some form before he started laying the fiberglass. You can just use something to give it form (i.e. panty hose, speaker cloth, yadda yadda) and then lay glass. I didn't do it this way (I just formed with my first layer of glass), but through my experiences I've learned that it would be easier to form it with something first.

you my friend are a true inspiration. i think i might have a project for the summer. i might have to go to a junk yard and yank a dashboard out of a 1g and make a custom dash for my car. i saw some delphi guages that project onto the windshield. might have to make a custom dash with mounting places for those.

anyway. i give it two :thumb: :thumb:

Guages that project onto the windshield? Like the 240sx? That sounds nice.

Super95awd--I got that deck too. Is that the cda-7894? Does it rub at all when it flips down? Def. a nice setup you got there. I'll probably try something like that eventually.

Thanx again guys. That's the cda-7894 and no, it doesn't rub when it flips down. I made the whole thing forgetting that the head unit did that but it was a huge relief when it cleared :).

mach v has the heads up display with the gauges showing on the windshield. dont know if they are similar to what ceniack is talkin about

yup, that is the one i think. if that one is made by delphi. not sure. delphi has several models. i think it would be pretty sweet though if you could mount it where it was flush with the dash so you don't have that box just sitting on your dash.

it is also a nice safety item. you don't have to change focus from your guages to the road when you check your speed.

I thought I had it smooth as glass (it basically was) but once I laid down the first layer of silver, you could see a number of little imperfections. More wetsanding :(. My completion predictions suck a major nut. Sorry guys. I better not make any more predicitons, they just jinx me.

Sooooooo close to finished. This is a pic with only one coat of silver paint on. I can't wait to see it with 4 more coats of paint and 3 coats of clearcoat OMG.
