2G fiberglass hood problem

Well i have a fiberglass/carbon hood on my 2g and the original bolt holes are f'ed to say the least. So im wanting to fix this problem as im doing some other work to the hood. Any ideas as to a way of fixing my bolt hole issue is straight resin strong enough (doubtfull). I dont want anything bad to happen i want this to be safe!

Here's an idea (not an expert on this so this is just my thoughts) Maybe have a plate with a nut welded onto it, bolt that onto the side thats stripped, and enlarge the old hole so the nut welded to the plate fits through it. Then, with a few countersunk bolts, bolt the whole assembly onto that side. The only issue I can think of is that it might change the height of the hood slightly, so the other side may need shimmed to match. Unless there's another way to lower the rear of the hood I'm not aware of.

That would never work seeing how its fiberglass you cant exactly weld steel to it[DOUBLEPOST=1411095828][/DOUBLEPOST]

Actully i see what you mean like drill a hole where the nit will go in the hood and simply put fiberglass over said plate

Well I guess that would work, I'd bolt the plate to the hood itself and then maybe you could fiberglass over that. Or perhaps some of that adhesive they use to bond aircraft parts together? That stuff is wicked strong.

O i see what you mean but that would leave an ugly bump on the hood (like there isnt one already)

If i dont get a good answer of a better way of doing it then i may just put hood pins in the top 2 corners? Anybody have experiance with this so i can just take the hood off when i need in there
