Hi I have a EU 2g Eclipse RS with the non turbo 4g63, and I have a problem with the FIAV. I live in Norway and I would like to keep the FIAV as its just nice in my opinion. Is there a way to fix the FIAV instead of blocking it off?

Thanks -Brian

When I start up the car sometimes it has a good idle in the cold, but other times its really bad. it jumps up and down from 700-1400 rpm and then stops for maybe a couple seconds and does it again.

For example yesterday I started the car for the first time in a couple days and it was running quite well, but then I shut it off and it started running even rougher.

Also it sounds like an old choppy v8 sometimes which could be pretty bad I'm not sure :idontknow::idontknow:

If you have a multimeter, check the Idle Speed Controller, ISC. Make sure the coils all fall withing ohm spec of 29 to 32 ohms I believe, theres great write ups on here how to do that. The idle speed controller will make your rpma oscillate like that when the coils go bad on it.

Ok nice i found this good video on it (

Hello, sorry for the late reply i was busy as hell. but i got some time and found out that most of the pins where laying at 27.6 and one pair was at 28.0. so i think it should be bad :idontknow: also the plastic connector piece around the isc female plug was broken in half. should i get a new one?

Those don't look far enough out to be an issue. This sounds more like leaks or you don't have idle set correctly. ISC can't do its job if base idle set screw (BISS) is not set correctly. Google the procedure or look at the resources page on this site.
