FIAV coolant lines swapped?

Just got a new FIAV valve. Removed the old installed the new. Now I'm looking at my coolant lines and don't remember which line goes to which port on the FIAV? Does it really matter?

Looks like theres one line coming directly off the thermostat housing and the other taps into the heater core line?

Anyway which line goes to chich port on the FIAV valve?

the outter (towards the battery) goes to the thermostat housing, and the inner (closer to manifold) goes to hose that passes over the trans to the heater core.
