Hey Glenn here, just got a 97 GST and was wondering what kinda crowd there was in there area for dsm's. it would be nice to meet some of you guys here locally maybe be able to purchase so parts that kinda thing. i know epic motorsports is probably the best place to go for major thing that require some professinal help but thats bout all i know of the dsm scene around here. so let me know whos out there!

Hey Glenn, just moved to the Fort Bragg area in Feb. Same here, not sure what the DSM scene is here. I see plenty driving around but haven't seen a collective group. Been to a couple car shows and I was the only Eclipse. It would be great to meet up on the weekends and exchange some DSM knowledge.

Yea I hear ya man cause I just bought this car and now I got replace the turbo. So this thing is turning into a bigger progect than I expected already. Actual planning to use the hobby shop since the got lift and and all that good stuff. I don't know a whole lot about the dsm but I'm forced to learn fast !

Are you talking about the hobby shop on post. If so, didn't know it was up and running. I need to find a paint booth and was hoping that Bragg had one.

Wuss up guys, Ken here. I stay in the westover area and i have owned 4 dsms in three years. So im in the area let me know whats goin on and ill be happy to share some of my dsm knowledge. The bad thing is its down right now due to a blown hg, but i have some spare parts and a 95 body for sale with tranny if interested..

im still with my scion car club (scikotics) tho but we always like to hang out with anyone
i know alot of people in the tuner scene hang out at the old Circuit City parking lot on Skibo Rd across from gander mt and mcdonalds at night on the weekends.

I work over at Pope AFB. I got a 99 GST that i just acquired from a friend pcsing over seas. My DD is a 03 Lightning. Back in the day i had a 97 Spyder. But if you guys ever want to wrench on the cars or do a get together let me know. I'm down to hang out and meet new people.

Oh, Sup all, Tom here been @ Bragg for a year now... Havent seen too many DSMs but EVOS are EVERYWHERE!!.. Getting back into the DSM game in a few weeks when I pick up my GSX. We should set up a time for a meet sometime in Feb (after I get my GSX!!! )

yea there r a few in the fayetteville fort bragg area. currently my 97 gst is down at epic gettin some work donealso you can check out dsmpurity.com there are a good amount of people in the southeast on there.

hey, yeah.. i use to take mine to god speed auto in hopemills, but that place is more for 240s... i liked epic motorsports.. what r u getting done to ## car.. im such a newbie

well i got a good little bit of work getting done heres the list-
1. head gasket
2. arp head studs
3. water pump
4. timing belt and tensioner
5. hallman manual boost control
6. aem digital boost gauge
7. aem digital wideband gauge
8. gauge pod bezel
9. 3in catback exhaust

i had blow a head gasket after the t25 blew and upgraded to the evoIII 16g so i figured id would just do all this at one time and let a pro do it versus a do it yourself job

thats quite a bit of work.. i need the water pump and belts replaced... ill probably go to them because im not very good at doing that stuff myself.. did u order it through them or just bought the parts urself.. i have a 16g... ull like that..

as far as a good painter i use a guy i know at work its hard to trust alot of the shops around here....that and there expensive as hell. and i took most the parts to them but ordered the MBC and gauges thru them

If you want your car painted you have to get done somewhere professional.
Peach, Maaco, and all those other places in fayetteville suck..The only way to get a quality job that last long is to buy your own paint..and not from them. Buy your paint from another company and then tell peach or maaco that you want 3 layers of paint and a layer of clearcoat. Then it will last. Other than that you will pay 3grand or you will have to know somebody that knows somebody.

so maaco and peach suck huh... id have absolutely no idea how to sand or paint the car.. everything else is really expensive?

I think its gonna cost me about 425 to paint mine here on base.
