Right now I have built the bottom end and done some supporting mods, with an AFX ECU on the way and serious headwork come spring. Here's something I know a lot of people here will get a kick out of...

I will be the fastest stock displacement all-motor 2GNT in the world.

I will be at the shootout next summer and I will have video of the run, a couple dyno pulls and a time slip to prove it

hey, i dont have the fastest anymore, i sold it, and striped the turbo shit off.
it is alot of work and money to go fast, and i found that out with the turbo install, wow, at the end i gave up and sold the car sniff sniff.
i did enjoy being the first 420a eclipse nt in the 14's, but trust me the money it took to do that grrrr i gould have bought a nice car.
i know got a 04 srt-4 and with 2000 dollars worth of mods i will be into the mid 12's. too easy.
for everyone that is still doing the all motor grind, good luck, it is super fun when you get you pay back, like going to the track, lining up against a 4g63 turbo, and beating him by 3 tenths, hahaha

Have fun with the SRT. They're a blast to drive. It looks like there's going to be about 4 of us from 2GNT going to be close to, if not squarely, into the 14s this summer and still be streetable. I think we're all aiming for that 14.6 ET. :thumb: :talon:
 
it's possible for a NA car to run high 14s. My '91 1.8L Eclipse will run a 16 flat at 93 mph. That was two days after I bought it, STOCK. Now I'm looking into going for the unique-ness thing, turboing the 1.8L... Lots of other internal mods this summer, look for it at Hot Import Nights in Boston on July 7... I hope...

Billy's 14.6 was in a 2G. I think it's a little tougher for us pig heavy second gens to cross that line NA.
 
i should be there soon. I'm at mid 15s with just intake and exhaust, so it shouldnt be much longer

plans by the end the summer include:

Header
Cat
New Plugs/Wires
UDP

That'll prolly be about it money wise for the summer, cuz i'll be doing some exterior work, etc.

But with my driving, I'm hoping to hit 14s by the end of the summer at least.:)

Yes, he's run a 15.6 with just a cat-back and an intake. I dont really believe it either, but, i was there.

you wont hit 14's if those are your only mods. at least look into cams, then you may have a chance:dsm:

I said the same thing..

"there's no way you'll be in the 15s with just a catback and intake." Sure enough.

He's got the driver skill to do it, and the air density down here is on his side... But eventually, his luck may run out.

I just need to stay faster than him in my jetta, and that's all I'm worried about :) That would involve me learning to drive, though.

15's with a catback and intake i can see. but 14's with just the mods he listed, unless hes just that damn good of a driver, will not happen:dsm:
 
my 98 :dsm: nt woulda been low 15's with ram air intake gs-t exhaust w 2.25 inch straight through muffler... ported + polished throttle body. higher fuel flow rate. ducting to filter. and my idea of the twin electric turbo's... will get u 4psi of boost at WOT only... and doesn't draw hardly anything from the battery. (about 20-40 hp each)

that will flow about 300-400 cfm each. nuff said yo

*EDIT* my actual best time was on my 14 inch rims with about -5% tread left (damn bald) was a 16.4
 
1st let me start off by saying racer x i hope you are joking. If you have this Turbo XS Type RFL, HKS Super Drag Exhaust, 3" DP, Intake, Apexi FMIC, A.R.D custom 2.5" uip/lip, HRC Super 20g, ported o2 Eliminator housing and Manifold, Greddy EGT Gauge, Greddy Boost Gauge, HKS TT, HKS 5 EVC, Apexi S-AFC, HRC 625cc, Walbro 255 FP, ACT 2600 w/street disc, and you think you run 15's. Etiher you are the worst driver on the face of the earth, or you copied someones mod list. I have a gs-t with a lot less then you say you have and i can run low 13's or better. Wiht all of this work done you say you should have more knowlegde then that.

A STOCK GS-X IS WAY FASTER THEN A 15.7 AND THATS STOCK
 
yea i may not hit it with those mods, i duno

i figure the cat and header may knock off 2 tenths at MOST, plugs and wires wont do a thing, and UDP usually helps a bit, i guess 1-2 tenths...

but my launch still isnt the best it can be, so im plannin on improving that a great deal too. I'm tryin out a new tecnique of shifting righ tnow too, so we'll see i duno. I'm not makin any promises, just hopin:)

I am really considering a N/A car over the AWD i want. but i am actually surprised at the performance gains for the N/T. I really wanna see some 1st gen #s. i mean hell, it looks like the SR20's and B-series engines respond better to mods than the 4G63 N/T. Even the GA16 sentra i have, no doubt slower, responds better. sorry this is more of a vent. i would think that with the way everything flows that some people woud be in the 14s easy, i've seen SR20's in the low 14s with boltons and prolly a cam.
 
my best run in the 1/4 was a 15.6 with

aem cai
apex exhaust
header with welded on 2.5" flex pipe (or downpipe whatever u wanna call it)
2.5" hi flo cat
af/x underdrive pulley
fidanza flywheel
200lbs weight reduction (a true 200lbs...no estimates)

its all about launching ur fwd...and your wheel spin. If you launch good, your bound for a 15 second run with just some bolt ons. but most people suck ass at launching a FWD car.

dr1665 is gonna hit 14's. He lives here in AZ with me, this guy knows his shit and is bound to do it. Anybody that is going to attempt to accept his challenge is gonna get screwed. His shit is getting hooked up.
