Factory Service Manual

The helm maunals are probably the best you can get IMO, after seeing some for other cars. I remember someone saying that the Haynes is good for the 1g (and Chilton better for the 2g) if you're looking for something cheaper.

If you want the paper manuals, the mitsubishi manual is available from Helm, www.helminc.com.

If you want the manual for the Eagle talon or laser, simply call chrysler publications. I just ordered one this morning. The number is 800-890-4038. For some reason, the manual costs less if you buy the owners manual with it (the girl who answered the phone clued me in) My total was about $65. The price for the manuals from Helm is $90 plus shipping.

I just bought a CD Rom version of the "shop manual" for 90-99 Eclipse/Talon/Lasers from ebay.

It supposedly has all the diagrams for evey part of the car, with all part/model numbers listed and everything.

As soon as it comes in the mail, I will post the entire thing online for anyone who wants to download it. It is in PDF format I believe.

For some reason, the factory Eclipse service manuals are expensive as hell on eBay. Get the Talon ones, they're the same information. Sets (vol 1, engine/chassis, vol 2 electrical) go for $20-$40. There's also a Body manual, a bit more rare, mostly for body shops, but still interesting. And the occasional training, dealer and other paper shows up sometimes.

It has all the information, including the electrical schemas, etc. I recommend it. But it assumes you are already a dealership mechanic. I also will likely spring for the Hayes manual for a little more detailed "how to".

FYI.. it was obviously just a burned CD copy, not anything original.
