I bought a header for my Talon ESI and it has a extra part on it (was told that is was a egr bung) I know that it has something to do with emissions but what exactly is it for and do I need it? Otherwise how do I connect it or cap it off?

Post up a picture, if it's a "set screw" on a flat part off the right cylinder (looking at it from above), then it is an EGT tap. 1/8" npt I believe.

No but I honestly dont know what is. It sticks out the side has threads around it and a whole in the center. Reason I need to know is because I can't pass inspection with this open.

could either be for a wideband or an egt sensor im thinking. if its for a wideband then its the same thread as an o2 sensor and you can find block of bolts pretty easy i have one in my dp until i use it for my wideband.

It is far more likely that it is for secondary air being that most every header out there for these has a port for the secondary air.

I don't have a turbo by the way so that's not it and it looks like this. The one with the bolt In the hole is for the o2 sensor but it's the one on the right idk about

Like i have said multiple times already it is for the secondary air system, only early 2g n/t's have that system, and it is possible that it has been removed from your car, either find a bolt to block it off, or have it welded shut.
