I am rebuilding my motor (.20 over, eagle H beam rods, ross 9:1 pistons, polished crank SBR stage II head SI dual valve springs, etc.). I am also going to be running the new SBR manifold with a 38mm delta gate external waste gate. However, I cannot find any information as to how to rout my vacum and boost lines to the external WG. I know where to get my boost source but I cannot figure out where to get vacum. In searching I found a link to a site taboospeeds site but that site apparently no longer exhists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is how mine goes with a Profec B boost controller. I have the pressure source line comeing off the compressor housing of the turbo T'ed with one end going into the lower wastegate fitting and the other going to the boost controller solenoid box. Then I have the other line coming off the boost controller solenoid and going to the top of the wastegate. Hope this helps :thumb:

just for more info -- any vacuum hose that meets up with the intake manifold is a boost & vacuum line.

If you running w/o a boost controller you cansimply T into the BOV's little nipple line coming from the intake manifold and route it to your external gate (not the line on the end of "hat" tho). You put it on the one in the middle. If your turbo has a boost source on it you can get your vac/boost from that too.

From the sounds of it the poster is confusing vaccum and boost lines. Just for clarification, they are the same thing. Any vaccum line is a boost line any boost line is a vaccum line, just depends on the state of the motor.

I know that the engine goes back and forth from boost and vacum as the turbo spools. I was just wrongfully assuming that the vacum needed to be a dedicated vacum source. Sorry for the confusion.
If I understand everything correctly the vacum/ boost lines should be routed as follows: For the vacum I can come directly off the intake manifold and the boost will go from the turbo outlet nipple to my DSBC then to the boost side of the WG.

what boost controller are you using? Are you planning on using both nipples on the external gate (which you can only do with an electronic boost controller)?

I am using a turbo XS DSBC. So I do not HAVE to use the top nipple on the WG? That simplifies everything dramaticly. I apologize for my ignorance on this subject. Unfortunately I will be asking more questions like this as I finish this build.

you cant use the top nipple unless your using an electronic boost controller. i have one and dont use it either. use the one middle nipple on your wastegate hook it up to your boost controller just like you would an internal wastegate.
