Ok so after like 2-3 years of thinking and researching and asking around ive come to a few conclusions. One all those people out there who buy and for some odd reason proudly sport the cheap canister exhaust.... Theres somtin wrong with them, i dont understand why anyone would put such an ugly useless exhaust on a nice car like a DSM, or even a crappy car like a honda. I almost fell prey to the "ebay" exhaust (nothing against ebay or some, SOME of the parts, thats just the term my friends and i have dubbed cheap or stupid looking parts on cars). Ive been watching the cars around my area, listend to them and by far the best exhaust ive seen and heard was REMUS which was on my friends car. They are a bit pricey but you deff get what you pay for. SO unless anyone can show me a nice looking and better performing setup then remus thats what im going to buy. www.remus.com
Im not trying to start any wars or nuttin, just stating the facts that i have found. also what does everyone think of ralli art? anyone ever use any of their parts?

thats one of the few sites ive found , well that speak english and sell the remus line, and if ur lookin at the price, trust me every where u go its about the same as on that site, but its well worth it. they have quiet a few diff set ups, both single and dual tip.

I really cant thank you enough. I have been trying to decide what to do about creating an exhaust. I was actually going to leave the stock muffler on... You can get them on ebay (dual tip) for 299.99. I dont care about the money. After reading all of the info on them I am going to get it and make a custom exhuast. 2.25" piping, high flow cat, and remus exhaust. They are quiet at idle and low rpms and then sound like a damn ferrari above 4k... Plus, it will look allmost identicle to my current setup (stock).

Why get a Remus? There's three major reasons why to buy a Remus exhaust.

Reason #1:
Remus brand itself. Remus is a very popular brand among the high end luxury and sport cars. Remus is the leading industry in sports exhaust. It provides exhaust systems to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) of cars like BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Porsche, and many more.


Reason #2:
Remus is the only muffler proven to give you the maximum performance out of an exhaust system. When you try to save money and buy a cheaper exhaust then Remus or even a cheap universal muffler you will be surprised in what you really get. When you buy anything besides Remus you are most likely to loss horsepower then gain and also make your car louder then a 1980 Ford without a muffler. Here is a little description of how the system works.

Imagine your exhaust system works like a water hose. When your car has a stock exhaust it is the same as you have a water hose with a regular sprayer. It work fine, and sprays the water out well. When you get an aftermarket muffler other then Remus, imagine this as taking the sprayer off from your hose and spraying the water out that way. You will notice that instead of the hose spraying the water it will just flow out of the hose and not spray at all. Same with the aftermarket muffler you have no filters holding the air flow, the design of the air flow on the aftermarket muffler doesn't exist and all it is doing is opening the air flow to your exhaust providing to much back pressure meaning "LOSEING HORSEPOWER." Not only do you loss horsepower with an aftermarket muffler but it also makes you car so loud you can't even stand it after a while. When you put a Remus on your car, Remus is designed to reduce the back pressure and provide the most perfect air flow possible. It is the same as taking your water house and changing your regular sprayer with a super one like a Euro Blaster which would actually keep the back pressure so the water can build up and provide a straight and perfect air flow so the water can shoot out as far as possible.


Reason #3:
If you ever had an cheap aftermarket exhaust before you will never go back to it again. It is so ridiculously loud, that it will drive you nuts after time. You get that cheap muffler for $40 - $150 and you think it will get you more horsepower and become this great thing on your car. But after putting it on you'll find out your car didn't get any faster more like slower and it sounds like someone just put a hole in your muffler pipe. You might like it the first couple of days but after driving it daily you'll regret of ever putting a piece of garbage on your car like that. Remus not only provides the maximum horsepower but it actually sounds the same as your stock muffler when you are not revving your RPMS. When you Rev your RPMS it sounds like you are in a Ferrari, nice and low deep tone. Not loud at all like those Civics you hear on the street. If you ever heard a Porsche or a new M3 fly by you. That is the same sound your car will sound like when you floor it with Remus exhaust equipped on your car.

Thats the beauty of the remus looks perfect and simple sounds real nice just cruising but stomp on the pedal and people will know. thats how my friends gti is, and all he has is a strait pipe and a remus, when he starts it, u get that low deep sweet sound and as he pulls away not reving it it sounds nice and deep and smooth, then when he womps on it, all u hear is perfection, none of that rice bumble bee in a coffee can u hear on everyones civic. Glad i could help someone else out there, like i said took me bout 3 years to really figure it all out.

the remus is top of the line definatly.But alot of us are poor and can't afford them,thats why people buy cheap knock offs like myself.I personally haven't had any problems with my exaust and it sound awsome.You do however have to be carefull with wich knock off you buy or you will be riceing aruond everywere and thats not good.I'm just saying Mufflers are just a "can" with sound insulation on the outside anyways,right? wether they cost $50 or $500.

I have a Powertech muflfler.it's not a remus,or borla,or magnaflow but it works payed $45 bucks for it (shop price) on dynamicautodesign.com,the same people that make dropzone suspension. I would love to have a remus,but for $500 bucks I can get some crane cams,or a nitrous kit.just my .02 cents

I've got a ASpec muffler on a custom 2.5" cat back and it's loud, but it doesn't sound rice at all. It's not like " GET THIS THING OFF HERE" loud, but if you are in the back seat (heh, who uses that when the car is running?) it's a bit too loud for my taste. I can't afford a lot of cash for an exhaust, so i went the cheap route. $50.97 for my muffler and $100 for the pipe. It's nice and deep all the way through, and no "WAHHHHHHHH" at all, just balls.

I have no problem with cheap exhausts, only when they sound BAD. I have no problem with expensive exhausts, but those can sound bad too. As long as they sound good, they are worth some money. Where you spend your money is dyno testing. Most good companies out there (seems to be the ones with the expensive exhausts) dyno test all of their products, so when you buy them you are getting a proven product, not chansing it.

I know what you guys mean about it being expensive, i mean i dont even have it yet cuz it costs alot, but thats why im saving and waiting cuz i know it will be worth the wait, but sadly i keep spending my money on other things haha. But i do have an intake and when i floor it, it sounds like i have an exhaust. In time ill have the remus. As for you other guys who spent like near nothing, hey plain and simple if it sounds good and performs good, go with it. Me ever since i set eyes on my friends Remus, forget it, sold, stuck, mind aint changing.

I agree that the cheap muffler is nothin but useless noize. Half the time it sounds like someone is driving a lawn mower down the street and they don't go much faster either!

I got a magnaflow catback system, all mandrel ends etc... Gives me a nice low tone at low rpms and a throaty custom exhaust sound when I'm pushin it. I definitely notice some performance increase as well. A bit more pull and definite increase in jump, especially at mid-high rpms.

Cost me $470 CDN and was a bolt-on installation which I ended up payin $50 to have done since several of the bolt need to be broken/torched off due to heat corrosion.

Yes, because adding just a muffler will help performance so much. I bought that dual tipped one for $10 off a friend and it sounds much better than the stock evo muffler, imo.

Well I'm not saying that all are useless noize, but a lot are, and most of the time on hondas. I suppose that there are mufflers that will sound good without being blatantly annoying. From what I was told before I made my purchase, everyone said to go with a catback because I suppose there are a lot of mufflers out there that are noizy, but not all

Can't say I've heard a bad sounding talon/eclipse though now that I think about it. But there are a tonne of civics and crx's etc that are brutal.

Like i said in my first post on here canister exhausts are bad.... today on the highway there was an acura integra that i got next to at a toll, and when we both got out, he floored it..... i thought someone was runnin next to me with a WEED WACKIN FART MACHINE i couldnt stop laffing. Id shoot myself if my car ever sounded like that, performance or not (im guessing not) it sounded horrible im glad i didnt fall prey to that.

http://www.cardomain.com/item/BOR40061 i like that one but its only 2 1/4" inlet, thats too small, and they dont have one with a bigger inlet can you make muffler inlets bigger, is there any way, caus i really want that muffler i have an ebay one right now and it looks really bad, it doesnt sound really bad, it hasnt blown all the fiberglass away yet, but it looks horrible, its way too small, thats why i havent really taken pictures to put in my gallery yet, im waiting till i get my new muffler and intake, :laugh:
