I'm new to the dsm platform wanting to know what do I upgrade to run a 3 inch cat back exhaust?

Welcome! Fortunately, these cars are pretty simple and you can just install whichever catback exhaust that you want. If your car has the factory downpipe and catalytic converter, just make sure the catback is meant to mate up to the cat.
