Well I was driving today and got a bad smell, and being paranoid, I pulled over. When I checked things out I noticed some pretty bad things. First, its leaking oil pretty bad, but I have no clue where from. Second, the oil was landing on the catalytic coverter and creating the smell. And third, a silver box in my exhaust behind the cat was smoking too, but I don't know what that box does and didn't see any oil landing on it that could have caused the smoke. The smoke is a very faint white smoke. I have a 97 GS-T. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? Thanks.

I think I tightened one of the lines that was dripping oil.. so that should be taken care of, we'll see when I let it run for a while. It had been dripping oil even while turned off and now it isn't so I'm hopeful. Anyway, I'm still a little worried about the steamy smoke from the silver unit a foot down the exhaust from the cat converter. What is that thing? I'm pretty new to the "new problem every weekend  " thing but I'm learning. Thank.
