exhaust question

I know there are thousands of exhaust threads and I have been reading them all day. I just replaced my N1 muffler with a vibrant 3" in dual 2.5 out and welded my factory tips on there and now it looks 100% stock. I even made the tips stagered to flow with the bumper. Problem is now it is extemly loud, not so much in the car, its fairly quiet at cruising speed but as soon as I roll down my window and pass cars or houses it is almost unbearable. I have apexi downpipe and apexi 3" catback with vibrant muffler, what would quiet it down more? a highflow cat or vibrant ultra quiet resonator. I just had a beautiful little baby girl enter my life and I dont want to kill her eardrums before she turns 2 months . Im just looking for recomendations on what would be quieter and not hinder performance greatly. Thanks

with my exhaust, my resonator made it WAY more bassier when you mat it.
but cruising it was fine.
i have a buddy that installed 2 resonators and his is QUIET. sounds like a stock car. well kinda.

I have full 3 inch exhaust with a resonator where the cat used to be its fairly quiet (more bass then treble), unless I'm shifting above 5 grand (which you wouldn't be with a baby in the car).

And if you're not really on the gas as your cruising in town down side streets and such, I'd use neutral often to keep things extremely quiet. That's how I pass cops, either in neutral or with the clutch down.

I think im going to try a vibrant ultra quiet res and then if its still to lound try a 3" high flow cat. I dont like having to go past cops in neutral just a pain in the butt and cops are dicks around here. I got a loud exhaust ticket with my N1 with the silencer in. It was just the big can that got me pulled over though.

thats what i thought! But im a NYS motor vehicle inspector so i just sigm my exhaust tickets and turn them in and no fines or fees. But im also a respectful person and i know people dont get much sleep and i dont want to wake everyone up at 2am.
