on a full 3" exhaust, does it make a difference if the muffler has dual 1.5" tips or 3" single tip?
 
If you do not count the fluid velocity loss and pressure loss due to the restriction of breaking the stream flow of which are both minimal in this situation... no it doesnt matter.

Are you putting this 3" system on a NT car? I wouldnt recommend that, you should stick with a 2.5" setup.
 
A single 3" will flow more than two 1.5"s, its actually got a much greater cross section,

however, two 1.5s still move quite a bit of air, and you get the stock-sleeper-look
never a bad thing...
theres prbly a small performance nod to the 3", but i think the aesthetics of wich you want to be looking at all the time probably outweigh that...
