Exhaust Pipes

so if i get an exhaust kite, ie greddy,HKS,etc.....what pipes will i get? downpipe....exhaust tip? etc.....ive seen the pictures and it shows three pipes..also do all downpipes eliminate the Cat Convertor completley? Thanks for the help!!

if you get a turbo back then all the pipes from the turbo back, including the o2 housing, are replaced.

a cat back just replaced the pipes from the cat back..duh haha
an axle back just realaces the pipe from the axle back to the muffler.

If the downpipe eliminates the cat it will say so. almost all of the ones i have seen do

Since you live in california, I highly recommend getting a downpipe that allows you to keep your cat. Get a test pipe if you want to run without the cat in between inspections. You will not pass california emissions without the cat for obvious reasons.

Ca emission laws suck! You never want to get caught out here with no cat on, you'll get nailed with a major fine. So if you decide to go with a system that eliminates the cat, you can TRY to find a muffler shop that will be willing to take the heat shields off a old cat and weld them around your cat-less downpipe. That's what I do and you can't tell the difference but I weld it myself to eliminate the tough task of finding a shop to do something illegal. Sneaky, yes, but it works.
