Can i reuse my exhaust manifold gasket its a 4 layer and it dont have any cracks just a few dark spots? if i can reuse it should i spray it down with copper spray before reinstalling it? also the same with the turbo housing gasket it has no cracks can i reuse that to its the multi-layer one?

also when installing the exhaust mani studs in the head how do u tighten them down i got them to screw in all the way with my hand but i dont want them backin out on me so what should i use? i dont have a torque wrench.

As long as the gaskets have no cracks in them, reuse them if they are the metal kind.

Snug and a quarter turn for the exhaust stud nuts. After a few heat cycles check them again, they loosen up sometimes. I use lock washers. If using a metal gasket you will hear it compress together when everything is good and tight.

I put some high heat thread locker on one the studs threads that goes into the head so should it hold up from backing out? before the stud that was in there fell out and the threads were stripped so i put a new stud in and it screwed in fine. but that stud that fell out is the one in the middle that reaches the oil so thats why i added some thread locker on that stud make sure it doesnt go anywhere.

You are taling about the lower center exhaust manifold stud? If this stripped out you need to insert a coil. That stud blocks of the oil galley in the head. I would no trust any sealant. If it does not seal then oil will leak from the stud, possibly onto the manifold and turbine housing, which causes fires!

Ask me how I know! I nearly watched a friends car burn to the ground because he tried using a sealant to hold the stud in there firmly. but truth is, sealant will not hold the stud when you apply torque on the nut, and the stud will spin at the shank.

Yea the center one...but the hole isnt stripped it was the stud itself that was cause when i put a new stud in i was able to screw it in and tighten it up real good so i dont think it will back out again.

Is it possible helicoils can leak pressure? i had a few helicoils done to the holes on the head where the exhaust mani studs go into and even since that was done at 12psi+ i get this loud horn sounding noise like somethin is leaking?
