exhaust first or fuel first?

I've been hearing both sides, so I wanted to get some opinions.

I blew my T25 recently and ordered a T04B vtrim. I have a fuel pump already on the way, which I will rewire. After the pump, I was planning on doing the safc, then injectors. I've had a few people tell me to hold off on the injectors, run lower boost, and do the dp and catback first. Give me some opinions on what you guys would do in which order. Thanks.

I understand I won't be able to get the full potential out of the turbo until i have both exhaust and injectors/safc done, but wouldnt i get more performance from the turbo if i did the injectors first so that I can turn up boost?

The Turbo is definitely too early. With that said, I would do exhaust first because it's cheaper. Your stock injectors should be good to at least 18 psi with that turbo with the 255. You would need more than just injectors and safc, you will also need afpr and logger to tune correctly.

The turbo is what blew, so I had to replace it. And I wasn't about to get another t25. For the pump, I got a Walbro 190 (will be rewired), so I don't need an afpr. I will get a logger eventually, but that wasn't involved in the question. Thanks for the input though. More opinions?

i would have to think that the turbo will work more efficiently with the exhaust opened up than if you have the ability to turn up the boost (bc of having fuel mods done) with stock exhaust..your turbo probably wont be able to work efficiently...im sure that you will probably be more than happy with 12-14psi out of that turbo compared to the t25...so go with exhaust first with low boost then do the fuel stuff to turn up the boost..just my thoughts :dsm:

Good point. Thanks. While on the subject of exhaust, I'd really prefer to run a straight downpipe, eliminating the cat, but what about emissions? Do most of you with exhaust bolt the cat back up when you have to do emissions? Also, will I have any problems with a 3" downpipe bolting up to the T04b? Thanks everyone.
