I just recently got my Evo 3 exhaust manifold and 2g O2 housing and it was previously used. I was wondering how does one get the metal finish back or if there is a way. My guess was to put it in coke to take off the rust. I don't know if this would work or not.
There is also exhaust manifold paint out there and I was wondering if anyone had good luck with that or does it peal off. I was also thinking of painting the exhaust turbine housing also to match everything else.
I was going to do this while I had everything apart to port everything.

i sandblasted mine, then put on some 1500' paint. been on 2 summers with no flaking/peeling.

the 02 housing, did however, peel... as you can see somewhat. i used the aluminum finish first, and it turned out ugly as sin, almost chrome like!! not anywhere near aluminum. so i thought it would work as a good primer coat. but NO, it just flaked. but like i said, the manifold looks good yet.

ps... mines just the opposite of yours, 2g manifol, EVO 02
