Hey, i have a 98 gsx with the full apexi turbo back 3 inch....i have the 1g head swap, evo 16g, fuel, ect......after i did the head swap, my exhaust has made a buzzing noise at 4k rpm....today i took my catback off to see if anything was maybe in it or soemthing but nope...also i started the car without the catback and there was no buzzing but when i put it back on, it buzzed at 4k rpm or so...i made sure the upper heat sheilds wernt hitting it and theyre not.....any suggestions??..btw, this is one of many problems ive having with my car...this one just drives me crazy...i hate sounding like a honda at higher rpms!!!....im just now getting used to my dsmlink v2 and many other things but id like for my car to maybe sound decent too!!!!

check and make sure you dont have an exhaust leak on the downpipe/o2 housing bolt up

it caused me to have a buzzing sounds

is it really loud buzzing, if its just a little buzz could be exhaust leak etc, if its really loud and sounds horrible it could be balance shaft belt, if it was that, it goes from normal to really bad at 3800-4k and just gets worse

well its not really loud and we didnt mess with the balance shaft belt when i did the head swap.....it could be the downpipe gasket possibly...ill check

What your referring to is what some like to call "bee's in a can" Basically that exhaust is going to sound like that on your car. Some exhausts just sound a particular way on one car but not on another. I don't really know why but your pretty well going to have to sell your cat back and buy something else to eliminate the sound.

If it is something touching then you can fix it. Generally it's the exhaust systems resonator is broken inside and making that sound, or the flex section in your downpipe is from a cheap manufacturer. They are generally the culprit...
