Evo3 02 housing, Megan downpipe, cut to fit?

Is it possible to cut the flange on a Megan downpipe in order to bolt it up to a EvoIII housing? It looks like if i can cut one of the holes in the flange to be a slot, it will slide right on.

Any thought on this?

I really don't want to spend close to $300 for a RRE downpipe if i don't have to.

You could slot the bolt holes and force it on. It will however put stress on the downpipes flex section. The best way is have an exhaust shop cut and reweld the DP flange to match the evo3 o2 housings angle.

^^ agreed! All because of the angle of the o2 housing. RRE actually sales a downpipe made specifically for the Evo III o2 housing

I'm pretty sure the op knows that cause they specially said he doesn't want to spend the money on a RRE.

OP. do you already have the Megan downpipe or just figuring things out before purchasing?

Common issue with Evo O2 housings, yes just cut and weld for a proper fit. It shouldnt take a reputable shop very long to do all this.

You can get the EVO3 downpipe flange and gasket from RRE for cheap though if you dont want to slot the Megan flange. Something to consider especially if you were going to have the flange cut off and rewelded by an exhaust shop anyway.
