Which one would be better? I mean Ive seen the evo3 turbo and you do see some of the differences size-wise between other 16g's. But the 18g, is it more potent than the evo3 16g?

The evo3 16g, and basically all other sizes of the 16g, are proven. The 18g's are not so proven, and they are overpriced for the numbers they put out. Stick to the evo16g and you'll be happy. :thumb:

lets say you were to get a irresistable offer on a 18g? Or lets just not talk about pricewise but performance-wise.

If the choice (performance-wise only) was between a small or large 16g and an 18g, I'd say go for the 18g. The 18g is a great turbo.

However, the EvoIII is just so much better than the rgular 16g's, that I think I would go for it over the 18g too.

neither

go with the fp28 from forced or the fp3052

the 52 will cost alot more

but tp28 is awesome and is a direct bolt up

talk to robert and ask him about the power and air flow and all out performance between the 2

not to down anybodys 16g's, but there getting a little out-dated

theres alot more turbos out there that cost the same and make more power

just my 2cents......later

Um... last I checked the fp28 is made to bolt up for the 2g guys, I think this guy has a 1g. The 3052 is a completely different turbo than either of those at that, and MUCH more expensive. As far as 16/18g i can't really say though. I have a b16g and I know I love it.

i know its all about the setup, but theres guys in columbia with both, and the bbt28 feel better, spools faster and pulls good

and i didnt notice if this guy had a 1g or 2g

the design of the turbo's would make the 2g pic the 28 and the 1g's pic the 16, just a easier install

later

not to mention, a turbo is a very expensive item (something you cant do often)

so why buy something that you may out grow soon??

not being rude, just trying to get this guy to think first, i bought a turbo when i first started and wished i didnt soon after

buy something you can grow into, not something you'll grow out of

you can always run lower boost on a big turbo till you get fuel or internals or engine management, BUT with a smallerturbo once you hit 20psi thats all she wrote, and with the t28, 16g,etc..........these are 250-300whp turbo's

Yeah, if you don't know what the hell you are doing.

You can hit near 400hp at the wheels with an Evo III 16G. Mine holds 26psi to redline. I run 20psi every day on 93 octane with no knock.

Hey, guys... what do you think about this: I got a 14b from a buddy last night for free. Forcedperformance is having a sale for taking the 14b and making it an 18g for $495. Should I go for it? Is it a good deal?

Not a bad deal at all. Brand new, 18g's aren't worth the pricetag put on them. But if you find a great deal on one, then why not. And that 495 you'd be getting a good as new 18g basically, that's not bad at all. If you're into sleepers, then that'd be great because from just looking at the casing, one wouldn't be able to tell it's not a 14b.

Thanks, dood! :D I am trying to go for a 'sleeper' look, anyway, so good point! :)

i was just wondering what your mods were that allowed u to brake into 11's with the e16g
i have basically every mod for my 14b except cams, pistons, and rods, i am also running 550's, by adding a ebig16 do i have potential to brake into 11's?

Umm, you DO know that the evo3b16g will outflow the t28 any day of the week, right? Not to mention that the t28's price tag is higher than that of the e316g, which is a much better turbo than the t28. Why buy a t28 when you can spend LESS money and get a better turbo (evo3b16g)?? That just doesn't make sense.

ive never ridden in a car with more than a 16G but my car has the evoIII setup, and all I can say is I absolutly LOVE this turbo, it's got real nice power/torque down low too.

The Evo 16G is a great turbo for the price. The difference in performance between the two turbo's does not warrant the price difference. Stick with the Evo turbo.

That's a good prce on that 18G.
And it's now sold-- to me. I'm upgrading from a regular Big16G, so maybe I can post any differences between the two if anybody's interested. I should have it installed in a week or so if shipping doesn't take too long.
