So I got my car fired up a few weeks ago and had my Prosport Evo oil pressure gauge and coolant temp gauge wired in. Coolant temp registers perfectly and it looks awesome!! The oil pressure gauge reads very low oil pressure at idle in gear(stumbles between 0-3 psi). The pressure appears to be normal at all other operating ranges. (I.e. about 55-60 psi at 2500-3000 rpms cruising at 65-70 on the highway, or 10-12 psi idling in neutral). It only does it in gear when warm. I remember reading somewhere on evo m about this being a known issue i think but i just wanted some input from other people who have this gauge and may have this problem. It does somewhat concern me, however I can let the car go like that forever and will not start knocking, ticking, rapping or anything. Thats why I am summing it up to the gauge... I know that oil pressure at 0 psi is never a good thing. As I already stated it doesnt seem to be doing any damage to the engine so I am wondering what my next step should be? Should i attempt to get a new sender, live with it, or what? Thank you in advance.
 
Prosports are piles of shit. It's normal for their oil pressure gauges to read zero at idle. They just don't have the resolution at or below 20psi to read anything.

The Defis in my nice GVR4 work perfect. The Prosports in my ski/DD GVR4 are garbage. You get what you pay for with gauges.
 
I dont have this problem at all. Im not sure what is going on with your car, however if the guage is reading correctly in all but one situations I dont see how its the gauges fault. If you are reading 0 with car off, 10-15 in neutral and 50-60 cruising I dont see how all of a sudden the gauge is inaccurate while at idle in gear. However, I will take my car out tomorrow morning and Ill monitor the guage from cold start to warm up and all throughout my cruise. Ill let you know my results.

I dont see how they are garbage. Im not sure which Prosports you have. However I have all EVO series gauges and Ive had more accurate readings with these gauges then any other brands. Including Autometer and AEM. I DO NOT have any experience with any other Prosport series, so you can be somewhat correct with your statement. But you seemed to say all series of Prosports are bad. Maybe you should upgrade to the EVOs.
 
My Prosports work flawlessly. Defi's are nice but they should come with a tub Vaseline. You get what you pay for to an extent. If I sold you a piece of dog shit for 1000 dollars that doesn't mean it's worth that much.
 
It's well documented all over the 'net the issues with Prosports oil pressure gauges and their senders. Some get lucky and have them work, some don't. I'm not one of the lucky ones. They're cheap for a reason.
