evo III install ?

I'm having a mechanic install an evo III in my 90 tsi awd. The stock turbo has a metal ring that fits in the turbo, and into the exhaust manifold. This ring doesnt fit the evo because the hole is a different diameter.. I know it's vague but it's the best description I can give. Someone who has done this mod will know what I'm talking about. Is this a part they forgot to ship with the new turbo, from Slowboy.. Or am I supposed to somehow make the original work with the evo.. Please help, my car is stuck on the lift.

The ring is not needed. Toss the old one and don't worry about it.

Right there is no need for it at all. I hope you ported the evo III, they are known to creep. It would be a PITA to have to take it off again just to port. This I Know.

Thank you very much for the responses, No I didn't have it ported.. I hope it's ok I'm leaving everything as stock as possible I have heard mixed opinions as to what to expect will let you know tomorrow...

You shouldn't have a problem with a stock exhaust.

Thanks turbo gst your post has eased my mind. I only went with the evo because of all the good things I have read about it. And slowboy also reccomended it over the stock one, so I took their advice.
