I'm not sure they would since the timing belt is on the opposite side of the motor if, but the exhaust still exits out the front side of the motor, if you're talking about the current evo VIII. the cam would be backwards from what our application would need.

congratulations, you asked another dumb question that's been asked before. No it won't work and if you want an evo then go buy one!

they work in a 4g63 .... but not in OUR 4g63s. Evo motors are flipped as are the heads. For that reason it won't work.

Hi 1fast97gsx, meet my good friend Sarcasm......

Does anyone in this thread have first hand knowledge of this?

The answer: .......because the engine is opposite and the exhaust and intake are reversed .......... really means nothing.

Will evo camshafts work in a 4g63? I have looked for the answer all over and couldn't find it. If so, would I see any gains? And would it be worth it for less than 50 bucks?

What model EVO?

What's this. Someone thats not an idiot on tuners?!

Why would you want evo cams might I ask?

I bought two camshafts on the educated hunch that they would work; that the 4g63 engines in both cars, though arranged differently in their cam locations, would have the same dimensions. I figure the best way to determine wether or not they would fit would be to compare them to the stock camshafts. If the lobs on the camshaft are symmetrical in design, it wouldn't matter which direction they turn. Again, I already know that i have to compare to a stock camshaft to see if the lobs would be positioned the same. I just need to get ahold of a stock camshaft.
