Victoria,
I've searched around on here and google but I can't find how much the stock evo 8 enkei wheels weigh...

I was hoping enkei would provide a specs page for their OEM wheels, but I can't find one.. that'd be even better, but I'd definitly like to know how much they weigh.

Thanks, I had looked at that before but under enkei, not mitsu..

But they have it wrong, so I'm skeptical to believe it, they aren't just cast, they are spun/cast wheels, and they boast about their weight savings, quote here "ENKEI 6-spoke 17-inch spun-rim alloy wheels. After casting, the rims are
subjected to a heating and spinning process that produces a flowing and fibrous metallic structure similar to
that of a forged wheel. Enabling a thinner rim gauge while retaining the necessary strength and rigidity, use of
this process cuts the weight of a set of wheels by 3.2kg. The reduction in unsprung weight contributes to
improved dynamic performance. "
20lb/s is normal for any cast 17X7.5 .. and not really anything to boast about.

Also I see this website says 17X7.5, however I've read that these rims are 17X8 everywhere on the forums.

...hmm

Thats a really good website, but honestly, I wouldnt be so worried about wheel weight. (was reading - Go Ahead Take the Wheel)

But I guess you got the answer you asked for.

Good info though, that website is a good resource.

Thanks for the clarification. I imagine they must be quite strong then.. heavier than many of the aftermarket cast only rims of equal size.. but that wouldn't be odd that OEM equipment would be stronger, many aftermarket rims bend from simple potholes, and the evo is ready to take on gravel, so I guess it's worth the extra weight for the strength (which I want) without shelling out huge for forged wheels.

Any confirmation whether they are 7.5" or 8" ?

almost positive they are 8s, they are 17x8s on the evo 9, and i dont see why they would change the wheel width. If your looking into wheels, look into some rotas, cheap knockoffs yes, but strong. Ive heard of alot of people bending 5zigens and other more expensive wheels, but i havent heard of anyone bending any Rotas. And they are resonably cheap :thumb:
