Is it possible to install Evo 8 camshafts into a 6bolt 1G head. Would I be looking at any kind of fabrication or will the just bolt right on and or is this even possible?

"They can be ran, but it's not a direct bolt on. I don't recall all of the exact details off the top of my head. There are 2 ways they can be ran:

1. The intake and exhaust camshafts need to swap position to accomodate the cas (Evo8 cas is on the exhaust cam instead of the intake). The cas slot is also 90 degrees off, you can adjust the firing order to compensate.

2. Have a slot machined into the intake cam and bolt in like usual.

With both methods you will need to degree the cams, since the timing marks are different and neither the evo gears or dsm gears will line up correctly. This install isn't very complicated but its going to take some smarts. Once you have all the parts sitting on the table, its not hard to see where the differences are and what will need to be done differently.

Disclaimer: Do not attept this if your a dumbass...

These cams are also only slightly different than ours (256' dur., vs. our 248' dur.), the biggest difference is the wieght. Each evo camshaft is 1.1lbs lighter than ours, giving your 2.2lbs off your valvetrain. When you add in the evo's behive springs, aluminum retainers and sodium filled exhaust valves it really starts to add up. The springs, valves and retainers will drop right in. "
