Looks like my transmission couldnt handle the power anymore, was doing a WOT run in 3rd when around 4500k, then suddenly the car instantly went to 7500k.went to pull it out of gear and it was a challenge but I got it. Tried to put it back in 3rd no go,then 4th negative on that as well, but i do have 1,2,5,R. Anyway something definetly let go.

My question is I think im set on getting the Jacks Drag Trans Super-HD with the 4 spider option,I just wanted some feedback from those who have the Evo 3 gear set with the shorter gear ratio. Is there a noticeable difference in the way the car shifts/drives and do you like it? Have you been able to break them?
The thing that is making me hesitate on the DRAG is that in the end i want a great shifting tranny for street/roadrace. The Drag only has 1-2 double synchros. Im sure either way i go it will shift alot better than my current transmission before it broke. Guess im just keeping in typical dsm owner mentality
"spend as little as possible but get the most for it" LOL

I could just get the RR Ultimate Synchro w/ 4 spider as that is what im wanting in the end but it doesnt use the stronger Evo3 gear set. If you were to choose between a tranny with the Evo 3 or without what route would you do? Is the Evo3 that much stronger to even worry about it, compared to stock parts?

this is the one you want w 4 spider^

The drag trans uses stock dsm ratios not the evo 3 ratios btw, but not the stock gears. The RR uses EVO ratios and, the double syncros do make a HUGE difference. LAWD it feels great haha. You could compromise by getting the drag trans and having 1,2,&3 double syncro'd since those are the gears you'll be wanting to shift quickest through in both dd and drag racing (yes i know you hit 4th in 1/4 mile). Really depends on what ratios you want though. I'd go with the drag trans with an EVO ratio 1st and double syncro'd 1-3 gears with 4 spider. Should run you around $2,700ish based on site prices.
