Well, I picked up a 1992 AWD talon with only 80,000 miles on it!! for $1500, turned out to be just a broken balance shaft belt, so I fixed that and she fired right up.

In bone stock form with only a k&N filter on it and a act 2600lb clutch and stock boost levels, and I mean completely stock, everthing but those 2 things. I relalized this car had alot of potentional being able to light up all 4 tires from a good launch with the 14b turbo.

I was sitting up one night trying to goto sleep and all of a sudden I had a scratch on my ass, reached down to scratch it and said "hmm whats this? OMG I have a wild hair up my ass" I decided right then and there I was going to build this car insted of my green AWD talon, I woke up the next day and headed down to the shop and tore everything off my green AWD, I figured I would put all my stuff on my new talon using the bone stock motor untill we get my 2.3L stroker motor done, (still waiting on HKS and my pistons).

SO with a bone stock motor with stock head, stock bottom end, stock cams, stock intake manifold, stock everything in the motor I put my race parts on this car. Here is the list of things I put on the 92 talon within 2 1/2 days

216 spearco FMIC
supra TT fuel pump with -6an fuel line from the pump to the fuel rail
FIC 850cc injectors
aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator
AEM EMS stand alone engine management
my fp3065 turbo with a ported 95 exhaust manifold
2 1/2" innercooler piping
tial BOV
tial 44mm external wastegate
greddy profec b electronic boost controller
all my gauges
magnacore 8.5mm plug wires

I put all of this on the stock 80,000 mile 7.8~1 compression motor with the balance shafts STILL in the car.
I went out to the tracks on sunday the 4th with full weight, car with me in it, it weighed out to 3522lbs with a subwoofer and amp in the trunk 17" heavy ass rims with bald ass tires that are getting ready to blow out LOL.

I droped the down pipe and ran open header to get this big ass turbo to spool and only had 4 hours of tune in the AEM EMS, (this thing is unreal) with major traction problems through 1st and part through 2nd gear and at 24.5lbs of boost on the AEM log and 11.1/1 A/F ratio from the wide band on the AEM and the timing set to 19 degrees across the board at 24.5lbs of boost, running this little amount of timing and runing this pig ass rich on 110 octane with a 30/60 mix of 91 octane I was able to pull this.

r/t .044
60ft 1.732
330ft 5.157
1/8th 7.897
mph 92.26
1000ft 10.202
1/4 12.103
mph 117.12

FULL METAL JACKET BABY!! DAILY driven, and only a few hours tuned with the AEM, now I know this is a 11 second car if I can only get it to hook up insted of having the 4th of july all day long with all 4 tires LOL. With alittle more tune in the aem since it's only about 20% tuned right now I'm sure with the stock motor I can pull mid maybe low 11's with this setup, that is untill I get my full race motor done here in the next month or so.

with a horse power calculator on that time slip and the weight of the car the car is pushing around 430-440 wheel horse power. Not bad for only a few hours worth of tuning.

I was tickled to death to see a full weight with a stereo system in the car and a bunch of junk and parts laying in the back behind the seats run these times and runing that low of timing and not to mention runing that rich, with more timing advance on the AEM and tuned for about 12.5/1 A/F ratio the car will go deep into the 11's.

Stay tuned for next weekend for more time slips.

Very impressive track time :thumb:

i dont no how accuarte those hp calculators are on awd cars, due to awd cars needing less hp to run lower ets. from what i have seen about awd dsms, 340 awhp should be enough for 11.90s

MPH!! 117mph 3522 weight with me in it, 117 mph is good for 11.60's

I had major traction problems through 1st and 2nd gear.

Kick ass Jake!
Drop some of that weight!

Couple questions.
30% 110 octane, 60% 91 octane correct?

What was the air temp when you were at the track?

How much timing do you usually tune for on the AEM under full trottle?

yes correct

What was the air temp when you were at the track?[/B]

about 80 degrees

depends on boost pressure, but anything over 22lbs I run about 20-21degrees advance with race fuel of course.

ran the car this weekend again, got some better times, BUT I could not run into the 11s since I don't have a cage, they told me if I hit 11's that day that I was done for the rest of the season.

Anyway, here is my new run letting off the gas at 1000ft mark and coasting through the traps

r/t .286
60 1.901 (no traction at all)
330 5.234 (spun and got sideways through 2nd gear LOL)
1/8 7.722
mph 95.24
1000 9.836 (this is were I let off the gas and left it in gear to slow down)
1/4 12.091
mph 118.85 (off the gas coasting!!!)

This was done on K&S 110 octane fuel and 27.5lbs of boost. Stock motor, and full weight. No changes from last weekend, just more tuning done.

AWESOME! My 3065 is in the mail :D

You have to go all out man and lets see what this thing's got, WHo cares about getting kicked out of the track. They will let you run again when you get a cage!

haha. awesome.

Your cutting that time pretty close to 11's and risking the rest of the season. Good job though.

It’s good to see this setup is up and performing flawlessly. I have to say, the idea of piston debris floating around in the turbine housing of my new twelve-hundred dollar paperweight had me hesitant to try my stock internals. However, I am very anxious to see this snail do the nasty; who wouldn’t be? I can only shell out so much loot before the need for some results is a must. I say that because I was planning on building the car from head_to_toe before even firing her up, but doing it that way just isn’t as fun. Piece by piece building would show you what contribution each part or modification makes. Seeing 118mph traps on what I thought would be a time-bomb setup gives me a green light.

Anyways, Best of luck bro;

Is it still alive? Its been awhile Evil how about an update?
I was able to get my car running on the 3065. Im running blow through and no air filter
and I sucked up the 02 sensor electrical connector into the compressor and bent a couple
fins; now my car sounds like it has a dying cat under the hood. MEEEEEOOOOWWWW!!!
