Ok I have a problem and have tried several things to figure it out with no luck. So I figured I'd come here for help. I have searched the forums and alot of the threads sound close to my issue but tried everything and still nothing.

I have a 95 eclipse 420a. I bought the car and it ran and drove fine. One day i went to the store, when I came out the car wouldn't start only the relay under the radio clicked. I jumped the starter and drove the car home. I parked the car in the yard and left in my 99 eclipse for work. I came home at 4am and noticed the interior light was on in the 95. I opened the door it went off... hmm I closed the door it came on.. wow really. I opened the door it went off again. I could not figure this out so I started checking door switches and light switch. The light went off. I got up later and tried to start the car.. still nothing but relay clicking. I have checked the fuses, had the battery and starter tested at autozone, advance, they both said the battery and starter was good but the starter did spin a bit slower than normal. I changed the ignition switch, and starter relay (anti theft relay) which ever it is. The one under the radio. I still have a no start issue the car will not even turn over. The interior light still comes on sometimes when the car is sitting. i have checked the cables, replaced both still nothing. I have 12v going to the starter. I have replaced ground cables and actually added a couple more. Now here is something else weird. The throttle cable got hot when I jumped the starter and it smoked. <--- you have got to be kidding me. Please help I am at a loss and not sure what to do with this car anymore.v:confused:v:ohdamn:vWTF

Thanks in advance
Mike

I also checked the clutch safety switch. I haven't done anything to the car since I bought it. so no wiring changes or anything.

I checked the wires around the EGR tube and nothing looks burnt or melted. I finally got the car to start by jumping the starter but still nothing from switch only the relay under the radio clicking. So at least I can start the car for now. Still need to figure this out and I need to find a replacement throttle cable. Mine is melted together so it doesn't work anymore.:banghead:

Check and clean your grounds. Sounds like the the throttle cable is acting as your ground...???

I checked my grounds cleaned the connector and added a couple more grounds. Car still won't start with the ignition only jumping the starter. I have changed the ignition switch also with no change. :banghead:

It's definitely something to do with the starter relay which is the one you hear clicking. Check the whole circuit for shorts, follow the wires and test it with a volt meter. And what do you mean you added grounds? There should be a ground that goes to the throttle cable bracket and runs to the fire wall make sure That's right. I've seen alot of people run them to the coil.
