European 2G 4G63 N/T

Hi all !

I'm a french men and i just buy an 1998's Eclipse GS.

Here, we don't have Chrysler's 420A motors.

It's a Mitsubishi 4G63 N/T (2L 150hp). Is it the same motors with 1G 4G63 N/T ? I don't find any information about a 2G 4g63 n/t in this forum

Some of the other members might know some information on them but what I would do is read up on the 1g 4G63 N/A Forums. There are bound to be some simularities.

There are a couple european members on the boards. I've seen a few posts from germany as well as england. I would try looking around the forums for any of them.

Just a guess, I imagine it's similar to the 1G 4G63 engine. There must be some differences for it to make 150HP. Ours is rated lower.

Are 7 bolts 4G63 N/T product by Mitsubishi ? (maybe a 4G63T without turbo)

Or a 4G63 N/T must be a 6 bolt ?

The second picture wont work for me. Looks like it's a 4G63. My guess is that they just continued putting the 7 bolt NT 4G63's in there from the first gen's. If thats the case, this thread here will inform you of the differences between the NT vesrion and the Turbo versions.

Here's your answer from that thread.

1g=
4g37- Found in some 1g n/t cars. It is a 1.8 sohc engine
4g63- Found in n/t cars and some galants, almost identical to the 4g63t but higher compression, weaker pistons, no oil squirters, and slightly less aggressive cams.
4g63t- Found in all Laser rs turbos, talon tsi's, eclipse gs turbos, eclipse gsx's, and gvr4's.

2g=
420- Found in all 2g usdm n/t hardtop dsm's.
4g63- Found in the edm n/t dsm's that made it to Europe
4g63t- Found in all Eclipse gst's, gsx's, and Eagle talon tsi's.
4g64- Found in all n/t spyders and most 94^ galants.

The plain 4g63 is n/t where the 4g63t is turbo. A lot of the time, the 2g 4g63 isnt designated with the t suffix because the 4g63 n/t wasnt offered in the states since 94.

And I can assure you that there are ppl there who know hte EDM Eclipse since its the same that was sold in sweden.

Oh..and yes, its a N/T 4g63 2,0 engine ;-)
