To give you guys another inside look at our processes I decided to cover the quality check that every intercooler we sell goes through, from completion in the shop to boxed and shipped.
Once completed, every intercooler is pressure tested in excess of 35psi to ensure that you'll never have a leak, even at the highest boost levels. This particular one shows the gauge at 50psi with no leaks.
As soon as the intercooler passes the pressure check, it is moved into the staging area where both sides of the core are thoroughly inspected and any bent fins are straightened using our modified fin pliers {thumbup}
Once there are no imperfections on either of the fin surfaces, any tungsten strikes (black marks) from welding are cleaned and removed for a perfect exterior finish. Inlet/outlets are inspected shortly thereafter for smooth port transition and are cleaned to ensure they are dust and debris free for the safety of your engine.
Following those steps, all exterior surfaces are cleaned to make sure that while you're receiving the quality and attention to detail that only hand craftsmanship can provide, that it is completely clean and void of any dust, dirt or fingerprints from its handling.
The final step ensures that the intercooler you order shows up in the same perfect condition it left our quality check desk. Inlet/outlets are taped up to keep peanuts and dirt out, while the front and back faces of the intercooler receive cardboard side boards to make sure all the fins stay straight and dent free in transit. Piping is individually wrapped in foam before the whole package is doused in packing peanuts for a safe trip to your front door!
Almost ready to head out the door!
