EPROM Questions

I used the VFAQ, and searching the forums for just "EPROM" is endless. I have a few questions though.

1. Can a n/t EPROM ECU be used in a turbo DSM if the "chip" is changed?

2. Do the ECU's vary with transmission? (does a manual DSM need an ECU from a manual, or will one from an automatic work?)

Any help would be appreciated.

Basically the people at DSM Link say that any eprom from any 95 will work. I would have to be a turbo since there were no eproms in the 420a's. Other than that the trans doesn't matter. But it still has to be a gst or gsx from 95.

Thanks for the reply, but how about in the 1G instance. I saw someone selling an eprom ECU from a n/t on dsmtrader. Were there Eprom ECU's in n/t cars? If so, could the chip's from a n/t Eprom ECU be swapped with a turbo Eprom ECU chip?

How about DSMLink for the 1G? Will it work with a 90 eprom only or will it work with all eproms from 90-94? Does anyone know yet?
