when i start my car it idles crazy, then dies. sometimes it will correct itself and drive for a second then does it again, i cant hardly get it over 2500 rpms, and it keeps jerking back HARD and dies and i had to coast home in neutral.

i did my safc install today and it ran fine all day with no problems, and my mod list is current. i bought this car and everything keeps breaking one after the other and keeps on breaking things

is it the iac?

do you have a CEL? if so got a logger? if so see what code its throwing. Also you say you had to coast home in neutral, but then the comment of installed a SAFC today and it ran good all day. Which one is it? If the problem just showed up after installing the SAFC (or shortly there after). Start there. Are the settings to SAFC correct (sensor type, throttle type, NE points, ect). DOUBLE CHECK YOUR INSTALL for poor connections at the wires you soldered. Did you lean it out? if so, how much? and were you logging when doing it? if so post up your log file.

If you have some time, go pull you plugs. make sure they look normal. See if one (or more) look abnormal.

well the install went fine this morning and i drove the car all day, i had everything zero'ed out and had the sensor type set, and cylinder type set and what not... but my friend hooked up his logger and it wouldnt work right, so i havent gotten to tune it yet

but i am throwing a fuel air metering CEL. and my leak is at the TB cause one of the studs off the intake mani is slipping when i try to tighten down the TB, so i cant get my UICP tight on the TB, and i had another leak at my intake pipe cause my coupler was too short to get on the compressor housing, but i just changed that coupler out today with the right one.

Check out Todd Day's idle reply

If this process doesn't work, you are in the minority. Try looking for something basic, such as a loose throttle cable, first. Other sources of idle problems include fouled spark plugs, a defective or gunked-up idle speed control (ISC) motor, leaking injectors, a cracked vacuum hose, or a damaged intake manifold gasket. High idle can also be caused by a throttle cable or cruise control cables that are too tight.

Some troubleshooting tips: if your idle adjusts when your A/C compressor is on, or when all of the electrical accessories are on, the ISC is at least partially working. If your idle appears to fluctuate with temperature, suspect an air leak in a vacuum hose or at the air intake first.

If you need to check the ISC, do it when it is hot. The ISC resistance can sometimes change when it has cooled down. Thus, the ISC looks ok when checked, but misbehaves when actually operating. The same holds true for cables since they can tighten up during operation.
Amazing that within 20 minutes I've posted this exact message twice.
