Hi guys, I have a 1997 Mitsubishi eclipse GS non turbo 2.0L DOHC.
We pulled the motor because it had a cracked block and are installing a 1999 2.0L DOHC non turbo engine.
Now I have a left over plug on the engine wire harness which I can not figure out where it goes.
I took several pictures but I can not upload them for some odd reason I get a security error message see site administrator to fix if you get this error message.
My photos are too large I think 4.38MB each. This site has a 2 MB photo size limit.
Anyway I will describe it. It is the largest plug on the engine wire harness.
I believe it is a ten wire plug. 4 larger connectors on the bottom and 6 smaller connectors on the top row all in the same plug. It is unique the only plug of that type in the entire engine wire harness.
It has a short lead and splits off from the main harness right after the rear motor hoist hanger attachment. The wire harness goes thru a hanger that mounts on the same bolt as this motor hanger attaches to. So this point is right at the rear of the engine between the valve cover and the intake manifold inlet .
The fuel injector plug that goes to the injector harness is right next to this wire lead that I am having issues with.
The fuel injector lead is already plugged in. My left over unknown plug has to go somewhere near this location it will not reach more than a few inches further away. Yet I can not find any receptacle for it to fit into.
I am guessing their must be another pig tail lead that this plug fits into which for some reason I can not find.
I went thru the entire 2g Engine Bay Electrical Connections thread and I did not find a connector similar to mine.
The closest looking connector was number 32 a wire harness combination lead but that location is in a very different spot from where my wire lead is located.
Also number 32 has 3 rows of leads in it and mine has only 2 rows of leads in the connector.
If someone can help me upload the pictures that would be a big help.
I never loaded pictures to a forum before.
Thanks for the help in advance.
