windsor,
So I have a 1992 eagle talon with a 6 bolt, but it's not working. So I've bought a 1g 7bolt engine so that I can make the car drivable and so that I can build the 6 bolt while it's out. I was just wondering if there is going to be any major complications or if there is a tutorial on it, just looking to go through this as pain free as possible.

First do a search in other fourms this question has been asked enough times you can easily find and answer without asking another, yes there are probs and various difficulties with switching to a 7-bolt. you'd need a new ecu and maybe a new wiring harness because the 7-bolt is quiet different.

you should do you own searching and read the "before you reply" rules, he's putting a 1g engine in a 1g car so all the electrical is the same, if you have a manual tranny then all you'll need is the flywheel, the automatic I have no clue about because I dont really like them but that besides the point.

Why dont you diagnose what's wrong with your 6bolt before you drop in another engine? If you dont know why the car isnt runnig chances are when you install the replacement engine you'll have the same problem.

i agree. what makes your stock engine "not working"? why not figure that out befor you go and trade engines. not only that but just the way you asked the question really sounds like your a novice when working out of the tool box, so most likely your gonna have a way harder time swaping engines than you would fixing your problem. but if your really gonna do the swap the 1g 7bolt will go right in. its absolutley identical on the outside. only differance is on the inside. has thinner rods, lighter weight crank, so on and so on. why not try to explain to us what is the problem with your car right now.

Hey bro it will work.... I did that same swap and it worked like a charm.... all you need is time and confidence n u'll succed:thumb:
