Alright, so I have a 1999 Eclipse. There was a spun rod so i'm getting the engine rebuilt. About halfway through getting the motor taken out, my dad quit. So I need to have it done at a shop. Other part is, it's about 150 miles away in my dad's city. What would be the cheapest way getting it here, and what is an estimate on how much it would take to get rebuilt by a shop? And would it make any difference in price if I were to buy a motor and have a shop install it? Thanks for any help.

I called tons of shops and a ton of them said either: They don't do rebuilds, they have no idea what i'm talking about, or they couldn't give me an estimate over the phone.

The two shops that actually gave me useful information told me 1st shop: We'd have to diagnose what's messed up and we'd need to drop the oil pan and it would cost $120. Then we could give you a better estimate.
2nd shop: We don't do rebuilds, but we could install a rebuilt engine for $1170 plus fluids.

Where should I go from here or what should I do?
