engine ran fine with bent valves, possible?

Hey I just pulled my head and I noticed that all my valve arent fully seated does this mean I have bent valves, the engine ran fine, and the valves show no sign of contact to any of the pistons, or maybe my cam marks can just be out of line? when i researched i seen bent valves and mine doesnt look like that just is a little open, ### do you think?

Are the cams still in the head? I've noticed if I take the head off my motor that some of the valves will still be open because the cam lobes are down and making them stay open...from what I've seen I don't think turning the cam to any specific position will let all of the valves stay closed.

But if you've already taken the cams out of the head they should all be closed, otherwise the valves are probably bent.

o okay yes my cam are still in my head so whenever I get a chance to disassemble the head Ill pay attention to the valves and make sure they close when the pressure is off. thanks

if the cams are still in then some valves will always be open because of the lobes.

remove the lobes and then re-check.

btw, if you bent valves you wouldn't have sufficient compression and more than likely your car wouldn't run.

I know mine wouldn't run and it had 25-50 psi across all 4 cylinders.
