Ok, I'm a total newbie when it comes to this, but I'm trying to replace the motor mounts in my 99 eclipse gts. My question is on the two upper mounts that exist now, there is a rubber piece on both sides (engine mount stopper and transmission mount stopper) do I need these? The mounts already have the inserts in them that I purchased. They look just like the other ones, but without the big rubber piece thats on the mount.
Probably a dumb question, but like I said....I've never done this before....

However, I did manage to get the lower front one replaced....the back...not so sure about!

thanks for any help.

If you're talking about the big flat pieces of rubber, I believe those are there to stop the mounts from slapping up against the body in high torque situations. I could be wrong though.
Also, I don't see many, if any of those around anymore.
