need stoppers for the shifter cables

I just bought a project 96 Eclipse RS and it has a short throw shifter (it's purple and silver) but it hits at the bottom when going to 1st gear (I guess because it's not hooked to the tranny yet) But it's missing those pieces that keep the cables stationary. I've seen some at the salvage yard but I don't know how to remove/install them. Need help

I used a little bit of grease and they pop out. Your talking about the white pieces.
