Hey I have a stock A/T 97 GSX with 106k on it. I've heard that the turbo engines only have about half the life of normal engines...is this true?? I just want to know if I can squeeze maybe a year or two more out of the engine before i buy a rebuild. Plus, what can the stock engine support for max HP??

Engine life depends on how you drive it. Stock internals are said to be good up to 450 hp but a guy from illinois is making like 551 whp on a stock block 7bolt.

Its all about how its maintained. A well maintained turbo motor will well outlast any NA motor that has been remotely neglected. If its had a good well taken care of life, I'd say its got some good life left in it...the turbo may start to go soon, but thats considered regular maintainence after 100k or so.
